Lobby was lovely, and upstairs patio. Rooms were very attractive too. The location is wonderful. Nice and clean too.
Our rooms had no windows, which really bothers me. It's important for me that I wake up with natural light in the room. Also, guests in the upstairs room said they heard extremely loud music till 2 am every night. OUr room was downstairs and in the back, so we didn't hear it. The afternoon staff was not friendly with my husband when he checked in, although staff after that were friendly and helpful. But overall, I didn't find the staff to be the kind that make you feel really welcome. I wish there was some complementary breakfast as part of the room rate.
First rate accomodations, promt service, clean, beautiful courtyard, delicious food, friendly staff, close to the mercados and El Socalo, (walking distance). Highly recommended!!
The Staff were extremely helpful with anything we needed. Not being able to speak fluent Spanish, they took care of everything. Also the location is unbeatable, right in the middle of everything.
+ Colourful traditional design, beautiful internal courtyards. Nice breakfast.
- Noisy ground floor, noise both because of the street proximity as well as the surrounding room tenants.
The staff was wonderful.
Our reservation stated that we would have a "room overlooking the courtyard". We were told upon arrival that we would have to move to another room after the first night. The other room was nice, though certainly not as nice as the original courtyard room.
Beautiful hotel and facilities. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Value was terrific when booking through Booked.net; we saved over 50%.
Be aware that one of the king suite has no windows.
Location very good. Ask for room away from the street.
Restaurant was not up to par, even for a light dinner after a long day. Parking not available.
The people were very nice, cleanliness was excelent, will recomend this hotel to anyone and we will be very happy to go back to it, location was perfect close to the main plaza and other restaurants and shops. Great experience
Location and the southern Mexican charm that it exudes.
Nitpicking - missing a mini frig in the room
The staff was very friendly and it was a great location - close to the zocalo.
There was a Teacher's Strike during our stay, though not our hotel's fault, it impeded us from truly enjoying the city.
It was charming, with a quaint interior patio for relaxing with a book or socializing with friends and the community. They also had a yummy restaurant on site, serving local typical cuisine and a friendly and accommodating staff. I would recommend this hotel. My only issue with the hotel was that the room was warm ... the air conditioning seemed to only cool a section of the room, and there were no windows to open to the outside for fresh air ... and the bed was a bit hard for my personal taste. But I would return nonetheless ...
The hotel was located perfectly for sight seeing. The hotel staff was impeccable regarding help with day trips and restaurant reservations. I highly recommend upgrading to a suite as they are very spacious and much more comfortable than other superior rooms. the food was delicious! although it's a modest restaurant, the food itself is wonderful and not be missed during your culinary travels in Oaxaca. All in all a great stay and an amazing value. Its full of charm and convenience!
The only issue that I would have with the hotel is the windows in the rooms. The hotel is a converted home with a central patio. As a result of the restoration, all of the rooms have interior facing windows and none face the outside. This is overall, a very very minor issue, but it can be suprising if you do not expect it. Since all windows are interior facing to the patios and hallways, I would recommend staying towards the back of the hotel where it is a bit more quiet.
The hotel was absolutely charming, with a great restaurant, beautiful courtyard, and friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. It is just a couple of blocks from the zocolo and although the street was fairly busy our room was quiet and comfortable (with the exception of the church bells every morning at 7:00 a.m. and every 15 minutes for the next hour!).
The design of the hotel is outstanding and the staff really makes an effort to make your stay pleasant - highly recommended - excellent restaurant
Rooms are dark with poor ventilation, overall ok for three stars.
